چکیده
Background: Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is among the most common and destructive diseases in neonatal period. Imaging methods are important early diagnosis treatment of such diseases. Ultrasound elastography (USE) a fast non-invasive imaging technique that deals with viscoelastic properties tissues. Objectives: The purpose this study to assess effectiveness USE, which determines tissue stiffness grayscale colored images, as an tool NEC. Materials Methods: Sixteen newborn Wistar albino gender rats were separated into two groups including eight each. first group (G-I) was taken control not exposed any intervention. second (G-II) 100% CO2 for 5 minutes 4°C 10 minutes. All these interventions applied twice per day 4 days. We observed elastographic data at 24, 48, 96 hours. sacrificed on fourth day. combination gray-scale US performed by 4-13 MHz average 12 bandwidth linear probe Esaote Ultrasonography Systems, MyLab60 model, produced Geneva, Italy; ElaXto application. Results: Statistically significant differences detected elastosonography ratios terminal ileum hours (P < 0.05). As ischemia period NEC prolonged, elastosonographic intestinum increased significantly. Conclusion: It found USE reliable superior features assessment age group. due its wide image window better gray scale color image. has been helpful diagnosis.

Eosinophilia In A Case Of Necrotizing Enterocolitis, A case report
Background: Necrotizing enterocolitis is one of the serious complications of prematurity. Eosinophilia has not been proposed as a classical laboratory abnormality in NEC. Previous studies suggest that eosinophilia during NEC may be a sign of allergic enterocolitis. Case presentation: We present a premature neonate with birth weight of 1280 grams with abdominal distention, bilious gastric resid...

Background: Necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) is a disease with high mortality. It is more present in premature infants and can also happen in term and late preterm neonates. It may affect any segment of the small intestine or colon. However, most commonly influences the terminal ileum and proximal ascending colon. This disease might damage the entire bowel, which can be...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate an experimental model of necrotizing enterocolitis in rats proposed by OKUR e col. in 1995. METHODS On their first day of life, 28 EPM-Wistar rats weighing between 4 and 6 grams were submitted to hypoxia (H) by placing them in a CO2 gas chamber for rodents' sacrifice, where they received a 100% CO2 air flow for 5 minutes. After the hypoxia the animals were reanimated (R)...
